Neori is made by Up Coast Digital Products, Inc. ("Up Coast", "we", "us"), a company in British Columbia, Canada. This policy describes the personal information the Neori iOS app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how you can access or delete it.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Neori requires Sign in with Apple. We receive an identifier for your Apple account, the first name you choose to share, and the email address Apple provides, which may be a private relay address. We do not receive your Apple ID password.

Meditation requests. When you request a meditation, the text you enter (up to 500 characters) is sent to our servers to generate it.

Saved meditations. For each meditation you save, we store the audio, the text you entered, the generated script, the title and description, and the type, voice, background sound and length.

Unsaved meditations. The audio of a meditation you do not save is stored temporarily. It is deleted when you request your next meditation, and its access link expires after one hour.

Subscription information. We receive your subscription plan, whether it is a trial, and its expiry date from Apple and RevenueCat. Apple processes every payment. We never see your card or bank details.

Usage counts. We record the number of meditations you generate each day and month, and your bonus credits, to apply the limits in the Terms of Use.

Usage events. We record events such as completing onboarding, saving a meditation or viewing the subscription screen, with details such as the meditation type, voice and length, or the plan selected. These events do not include the text you enter. Events sent by the app are not linked to your name or email address. The event recording a trial converting to a paid subscription is linked to your account identifier.

Crash and error reports. We receive reports of app crashes and errors. Account identifiers, device details, network addresses and access tokens are removed before a report is sent.

Information stored only on your device. Your onboarding answers and your listening history are stored on your device and are not sent to us.

Neori does not collect location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone input, health data, or advertising identifiers.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to provide your account, generate and store your meditations, manage your subscription and its limits, operate share links, and diagnose and fix problems. The text you enter is used only to generate your meditation. We do not use personal information for advertising, do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and do not sell personal information.

3. Share links

If you share a saved meditation, anyone signed in to Neori with the link can listen to it and view its title, description, script and the text you entered. Deleting the meditation disables all of its share links.

4. Service providers

We share personal information only with the following providers, and only to operate Neori:

  • Supabase: account data, saved meditations and audio, usage counts, subscription status, and the servers that generate meditations.
  • Anthropic: the text you enter, to write the script.
  • ElevenLabs: the script, to produce the audio.
  • Apple: sign-in, payments and subscriptions.
  • RevenueCat: subscription status and your account identifier.
  • PostHog: the usage events described above.
  • Sentry: crash and error reports, with personal details removed.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law.

5. Where information is processed

Our service providers store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country is subject to that country's laws and may be accessed by its courts and authorities.

6. Retention

  • Saved meditations: until you delete them or your account.
  • Unsaved meditation audio: until your next meditation request.
  • Account information, usage counts and subscription status: until you delete your account.
  • Usage events and crash reports: for the retention period set in our PostHog and Sentry accounts, after which they are deleted.

7. Deletion

  • A meditation: deleting a meditation from your library deletes its audio, its record and its share links.
  • Your account: Profile, then Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your account, profile, saved meditations and audio, share links, usage records and subscription records from our systems, and the meditations stored on your device.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, which is billed by Apple. Cancel it in your device's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.

8. Your rights

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw your consent, wherever you live. Send requests to apps at upcoast dot ca. We respond within 30 days.

We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you live outside Canada, you may also have rights under the law of your country, including the right to complain to its privacy regulator.

9. Children

Neori is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Information Neori stores on your device is protected by the device's encryption. Information the app sends is encrypted in transit. If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will give notice in the app before the change takes effect.
