Dayletter Terms of Use
Up Coast Digital Products, Inc.
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Up Coast governing your use of the Dayletter iOS app. Dayletter is made by Up Coast Digital Products, Inc. ("Up Coast", "we", "us"), a company in British Columbia, Canada. By downloading or using Dayletter, you agree to these terms. The Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.
1. Not medical advice
Dayletter records the information you enter and identifies patterns in it. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Patterns shown by Dayletter are correlations in your entries, not causes. Consult your doctor before changing any treatment, medication or diet.
- The doctor's report summarises your entries. It is not a medical record.
- Do not use Dayletter for emergencies. If you need urgent care, call your local emergency number.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Dayletter. To purchase a subscription you must be of the age of majority where you live, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Your information
Your entries are stored on your device and in your private iCloud database and remain yours. You are responsible for the security of your device and Apple Account and for exporting any copy you wish to keep. We cannot access your entries and cannot recover them if they are lost.
4. Subscriptions and free trials
Dayletter requires a subscription, purchased through the App Store, after its free trial.
- Annual plan: billed yearly. New subscribers receive a one-week free trial. If the trial is not cancelled before it ends, the annual price is charged.
- Monthly plan: billed monthly.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged.
- Apple handles payments and refunds under its own terms. We cannot issue App Store refunds; you can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices are shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy.
Any reminder we send before a free trial ends is a courtesy. Apple's cancellation deadline applies whether or not you receive one.
5. Your licence to use Dayletter
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Dayletter on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow. Dayletter's name, design, artwork, text and software belong to Up Coast. These terms give you no other rights in them.
You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or interfere with Dayletter or the services it uses, get around its subscription checks or limits, try to reach other people's data, or use Dayletter for anything unlawful.
6. Apple
These terms are between you and Up Coast, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Dayletter or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claim about it, including product liability claims, claims that it does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection or privacy claims. If Dayletter fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for it. If someone claims that Dayletter infringes their intellectual property, Up Coast, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with that claim. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo or listed as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on a United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
7. No warranty
Dayletter is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will suit a particular purpose.
8. Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, Up Coast is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of Dayletter. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid for Dayletter in the 12 months before the claim and 50 Canadian dollars.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
9. Ending
You can stop using Dayletter at any time. Stopping does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your iPhone's Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring them where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top and, for an important change, tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using Dayletter after that means you accept the new terms.
